Gorgeous Ava is a 4 month old (as of 7/20/26) female Hound/Am Staff/Cur type mix who hails from the land of Dixie, having come to us from Southern Virginia with her 4 siblings. She currently weighs in at approximately 29 pounds, and we expect her to be around a 60 pound adult. Ava is the boss lady of her litter of 5. She has that kind of personality that promises a bold, outgoing, no fear kind of adult. She keeps everyone in line with an inborn confidence that will make her an outstanding new member of the family. Because she likes to be the head girl in charge, we would prefer that Ava be the only girlie in the home. She would likely be just fine as an only, or with a brother to keep in line. We anticipate she would be fine with respectful kids, and while cats are a bit of a mystery, could learn to respect and live in harmony with them with a little guidance and rules. Puppies are a lot of work, and Ava is not an exception to that rule. No puppy is! She is very smart, very food motivated, very ready to learn. She will need rules, structure and help to be her very best both as a pup and an adult. Socialization is key, and she needs a family that is willing to involve her in all the things, take her to wild and strange places (right now that's everywhere), and let her meet just as many humans as possible.
