How does someone leave behind a dog like Zeus? We may never understand. When his family moved away, Zeus and his little pug brother were simply left behind. No goodbye. No explanation. Just two loyal dogs wondering why the people they loved never came back. The beautiful thing about dogs, though, is that they don’t let heartbreak define them. At just 1–2 years old, Zeus still greets every person with a wagging tail and a heart full of love. Everyone who meets him says the same thing: “He’s the nicest boy.” And it’s true! Zeus adores other dogs, melts for a good butt scratch, rides perfectly in the car, and is working hard on his leash manners. He isn’t bitter. He isn’t angry. He’s simply waiting for someone to love him the way he’s always deserved. He’s been neutered and has a full veterinary exam and bloodwork scheduled this week. We’re still learning how he feels about cats, but we’ll keep everyone updated. Zeus has already experienced what it feels like to be left behind.
