Meet Bella, an energetic, affectionate one-year-old German Shepherd/Malinois mix weighing approximately 53 pounds. Born around July 4, 2025, Bella's story began when she was found as a stray puppy and given a second chance at life. Since then, she has blossomed into a healthy, intelligent, and loving companion who is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and ready to find her forever family. With her striking ears, beautiful shepherd face, and expressive personality, Bella turns heads everywhere she goes. Bella is a high-energy girl who loves to run, play, and be part of the action. Whether she's chasing a tennis ball, sprinting around the backyard with the zoomies, going on long walks, or roughhousing with her people, she's happiest when she has something to do. She absolutely loves belly rubs and greets her people every morning with what feels like a big hug. Bella is incredibly loyal and naturally protective of the people she loves, making her a devoted companion. She generally enjoys playing with other active dogs, although her energetic play style may be a little much for calmer dogs. She has a strong prey drive, so she should not live with cats or other small animals. Because of her intelligence and energy level, Bella would thrive with an active family that enjoys hiking, running, exploring trails, or spending lots of time outdoors. A home with a securely fenced yard or even a farm would be ideal, and she would make an excellent playmate for another energetic dog. Bella is house-trained, crate-trained, and sleeps quietly through the night in her crate. She knows several commands including sit, lay down, outside, and "OK" as her release word before meals, leaving her crate, or heading out for walks. She's currently working on stay, come, and improving her leash manners, as she can pull when excited. Like many young shepherd mixes, Bella is extremely intelligent and learns quickly, but she also has a stubborn streak and will do best with an experienced owner who will provide consistent training, structure, and positive reinforcement. She can become anxious when left alone and may bark for a few minutes after you leave, but she typically settles down quickly. Bella is also a powerful chewer, so durable chew toys are a must, and shoes, paper towels, and other tempting household items should be kept out of reach while she continues learning appropriate chewing habits. Bella is being rehomed through absolutely no fault of her own. She was rescued as a stray puppy with the goal of giving her a safe place to land until the right forever family came along. She has grown into an amazing dog who now deserves a home that can provide the time, activity, continued training, and adventures she craves. If you're looking for a loyal, intelligent, athletic companion who will happily join you on hikes, long walks, backyard games of fetch, and everyday adventures, Bella may be your perfect match.
