About

DOB: 04/20/2026 Female To get to know Sesame you may need some tissues near by. At just a month old, Sesame and her siblings found themselves stranded on the cold streets of Rochester when their street cat mama was hit by a car. Their poor mother didn't make it and the litter was taken in by a bystander who surrendered them to GRASP for care. For the past couple months, Sesame and her siblings have been cared for deeply by fosters who have worked to gain their trust, but it has been an uphill battle due to the litter's previous trauma with humans. Ever so slowly they have started opening up and are ready to continue that momentum in their forever homes. Sesame is one of the most shy of the group yet she is the one who shows the most signs of genuinely being interested in human affection. Sesame isn't as playful as her siblings and would rather enjoy her time sun bathing and lounging on a cat tree then hiding when humans come near her, but despite her cloudy disposition she will allow select people to hold her and she has even been caught purring when pet once or twice. This may not sounds like a big deal, but given her past this is HUGE. These small moments of acceptance in a short foster period show the loving and cuddly girl she can be with a family who will allow her the time to open up on her terms. She gets along well with other cats, but does not enjoy the presence of the dogs in the house. She has been around children and would be okay with them as long as they are respectful of her boundaries and understand that time is everything with getting her to open up. If you are the type of person who believes good things are worth waiting for then Sesame just might be the girl for you. This cat has been combo-tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, received all age-appropriate vaccinations and is altered.
