Kenny is the kind of dog who lives life with his whole heart. This 2-year-old, 57-pound Shepherd mix wakes up each day ready for his next adventure, whether that's racing around the backyard, playing with his favorite toys, or discovering a new trail with his family. His playful spirit is contagious, but once he's had his fun, he happily settles down for a quiet evening, content to curl up on his bed or soak up all the affection you're willing to give. Living with Kenny is easy because he's already house trained, crate trained, and respectful of his home. He doesn't have accidents and doesn't destroy things when left alone. His playful enthusiasm makes him a better fit for a family with children eight years and older, simply because he doesn't always realize how strong and excited he can be. Kenny is deeply devoted to his people and has all the qualities of a loyal family companion. He's intelligent, food motivated, and enjoys learning, making him a pleasure to train. Kenny loves the company of other dogs and would be especially happy with a canine buddy who shares his size and energy level. He also gets along beautifully with cats, which makes him an extra-special find. Like many rescue dogs, Kenny carries a bit of his past with him. He seems to have experienced unkind treatment from a man, so he may be a little cautious when meeting men for the first time. Give him a little patience, a few treats, and the chance to build trust, and you'll quickly discover the incredibly loving, affectionate dog waiting underneath. If you're searching for an active companion who will make you laugh, keep you moving, and love you with his whole heart, Kenny may be the perfect addition to your family.
