S'mores is the kind of cat who believes that trust is something special, something to be earned rather than given away. She may not be the first cat to greet every visitor at the door, but once she decides you're one of her people, you'll discover a gentle, affectionate companion who loves quiet moments together and has plenty to say about her day. This petite two-year-old calico is as lovely in personality as she is in appearance. Her soft patchwork coat matches her sweet nature, and her expressive voice ensures you'll never have to wonder what she's thinking. Whether she's reminding you it's time for dinner, greeting you when you come home, or simply chatting as you move around the house, S'mores is a true conversationalist. S'mores enjoys affection on her own terms. She loves being petted and will happily soak up attention when she feels comfortable, but she's a little hand-shy if someone reaches toward her too quickly. She prefers to keep all four paws on the ground instead of being picked up, and she appreciates people who let her come to them first. Once she feels safe, her loving personality shines through. Life has taught S'mores to approach new situations with a little caution. New places and unfamiliar people can make her nervous at first, especially around adults with big footsteps, but patience goes a long way with her. Give her a little time to settle in, and you'll be rewarded with a devoted companion who enjoys simply being near her favorite people. While she isn't an especially energetic cat, S'mores still has her playful moments. She prefers relaxing in a cozy cat bed or stretching out on a cat tree where she can observe the world, but she becomes much more animated when another feline is around. In fact, one of her favorite playmates is another cat. She has been a loving mother to her kittens and formed a wonderful friendship with the resident orange tomcat in her foster home. She would truly enjoy having a feline companion in her forever home. When mealtime arrives, S'mores is always interested. She especially enjoys wet food and is happiest eating when others are nearby. If you're preparing dinner a little too slowly, don't be surprised if she offers a running commentary until her bowl is served. S'mores has excellent litter box habits and a gentle disposition. She may occasionally playfully swat at moving legs, but she responds much better to calm, patient interactions than to hands reaching directly toward her. She has done well with older children who understand how to respect a cat's boundaries, making her a great fit for a family with cat-savvy kids. While she loves other cats, she was not a fan of the small pug in her previous home and would likely do best in a home without dogs. If you're looking for a cat who will blossom with patience, fill your home with sweet conversation, and enjoy the comfort of sharing life alongside both people and feline friends, S'mores is ready to find the family she's been waiting for.
