We’re happy to help with tips and tricks! Currently Living at: Foster home in the DC area I am Looking For: My loving forever family! Hi! I'm Penny, and I am a sweet lady! I won’t ask for much- just some love, cuddles and lots of toys so I can run and play and be my kitten self. What My Foster Says About Me: Penny was found as a stray in one of our fosters' neighborhoods in northern Virginia. After asking around, her now foster learned that she and her kittens had been taken into a county shelter. Penny was spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped there, and her babies were put up for adoption, but she was released back to her "home" -- a neighborhood near a busy road. Penny is certainly a Lucky Cat because she ran into a LDAR foster on a walk who instantly knew she was way too friendly and sweet to live on the streets of Falls Church -- you can see one of the photos of her outside approaching a neighbor. Her foster mom begged Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to put Penny up for adoption, and because she is lucky, they agreed to help! Her foster mom's neighbors helped catch Penny a few days later, she passed her medical exams with flying colors, and the rest is history. Penny is now adjusting quickly to the life of an indoor cat -- she much prefers having cozy beds, air conditioning, and 24/7 access to food and water to being outside. She is an exceptionally friendly cat who is willing to rub up against any human walking by -- it's how she got food from the whole neighborhood when she was still a stray. She does have some "torti-tude" (cat attitude that tortoiseshell-colored cats commonly have) and can get overstimulated when seeking attention, so she may be do better in a home without young children who may accidentally push past her boundaries. She is a lap cat and jumped into her foster mom's lap the first day she was rescued from the streets and loves to sleep in her bed with her. So far, Penny is not interested in the company of her foster mom's other foster cat -- though he cannot read social cues and desperately wants to be her friend and keeps pushing it too soon! But her foster mom thinks she could be integrated with other cats if it's taken slow -- she's been known to socialize with neighborhood cats. She has not yet shown any interest in wet food, only dry food -- but she is excellent about drinking plenty of water, which cats are notoriously bad at. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this cat is $200 ($350 for two cats adopted together), which includes the cost of routine vetting.
