Leo is a friendly pup who is currently with our partner rescue in Louisiana but hoping to come to NJ soon. We do offer a foster-to-adopt trial to approved adopters. Meet Leo — your future best friend with a heart as big as his goofy grin. This sweet lab/pitty mix is just under a year old and already has quite the story. Leo was found wandering a local neighborhood, eventually making himself at home in a kind stranger’s garage where he happily spent his days playing with the neighborhood kids while waiting for his next chapter. And now? He’s ready for his forever family. In foster care, Leo has been thriving. He loves romping around with his doggy crew, chasing toys, and then crashing hard for those well-earned daytime snoozes. He’s the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. He even likes cats! Leo is kennel trained, knows how to sit, and walks nicely on a leash. He’s doing great with house training and, as long as he’s let out regularly (about every 4 hours), he keeps his foster home accident-free. He’s still a young guy learning the ropes, but he’s eager to please and listens really well. Even better — Leo shows no signs of food or toy aggression. He’s just an all-around good boy who wants to love and be loved. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, and loyal companion to join your adventures (and your couch), Leo might just be your guy. Leo is fixed, microchipped, tested negative for heartworm and is up to date on vaccines. His adoption donation is $600. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.
