Please read the pet description IN IT'S ENTIRETY before applying. Thank you for your cooperation. NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 6/22/2026: Butter Moon - female - 8 years old - 10.14 pounds - Shih Tzu Reason for intake: Butter Moon came in with Miss Bee Haven and Chewbarka. Sadly, their elderly owner is no longer able to take care of them. PLEASE, no negative comments. These babies were definitely loved. They are all heading to the groomer and then to the vet. Chewbarka and Butter Moon both have issues with their rear left legs where they are not bearing weight on them. It appears they have growths on their stifle joint (the bend at the knee). Chewbarka's has seemed to ruptured and has scabbed over. Butter Moon's has not. Our vet will definitely take a look at that and see what's going on! Anyway, stay tuned! NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link: https://www.facebook.com/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. “ The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” ~ Gandhi Be responsible ~ Always spay/neuter, keep your dogs on heartworm prevention, vaccinate against disease... and if you bring a pet into your life, commit to that pet for life. Blessings.
