Some dogs take a while to win you over. Umbrella can do it with a single look. This adorable 5-6 month old, 10-pound Terri-poo was rescued from the shelter after being abandoned alongside a female dog who may have been his mother— or perhaps just the dog who helped raise him. Whatever his story was before rescue, Umbrella is ready to focus on his future: finding a family of his very own. With his perpetually adorable bedhead, soulful eyes, and constant smile, Umbrella has been stealing hearts everywhere he goes. But his greatest charm isn't his cute face—it's his enormous capacity for love. Professional Cuddler, Amateur Personal Space Enthusiast Umbrella is the definition of a velcro dog. Wherever you go, he's likely to be right behind you. Working at your desk? He'll be curled up at your feet. Relaxing on the couch? He'll happily climb into your lap. Heading to another room? Expect a fluffy little shadow to accompany you. His favorite activity is simply being with his people. While he arrived in foster care as a quiet, curious boy, he's blossomed into a playful, affectionate puppy with a silly side. He loves giving kisses, enjoys being brushed, and will happily settle in for snuggles after a play session. At bedtime, he often likes to start the night cuddled up close before stretching out and claiming a little personal space of his own. And yes—he apparently enjoys watching bird videos on YouTube, which may be one of the more unusual hobbies we've encountered. Playful but Not Wild Umbrella strikes a lovely balance between playful puppy and easygoing companion. He gets enthusiastic bursts of zoomies, enjoys playing with toys, and loves interactive puzzles and chews that keep his busy mind occupied. Once he's burned off a little energy, though, he's perfectly content to curl up beside you and relax. He's not the type of puppy who needs constant entertainment, but he does appreciate having toys, puzzles, and activities to keep him from finding his own creative projects around the house. Sweet with People Umbrella has shown himself to be gentle and affectionate with both adults and children he's met. He can be a little shy when meeting new people, especially kids, but warms up nicely and has done well with children around six years old and older. He's the kind of dog who would rather quietly observe a situation before deciding everything is safe. Learning About the Big Wide World Like many rescue puppies, Umbrella is still building confidence. Walks are very much a work in progress. He doesn't pull, bark at dogs, or chase squirrels. In fact, his biggest challenge is that he finds the world fascinating—and occasionally a little overwhelming. He's gradually gaining confidence and does best when given patience and encouragement rather than being rushed. Home Life Umbrella sleeps beautifully in a crate and can comfortably spend a few hours there when needed. He also settles nicely in bed with his people. His biggest area of growth right now is potty training. Umbrella is still very much learning the ropes and will need an adopter who is committed to continuing his training with patience and consistency. He's making progress. The good news is that he's still young, eager to learn, and already thriving with structure and routine. Why You'll Love Umbrella There is something special about Umbrella. Maybe it's his constant smile. Maybe it's the way he follows his people everywhere. Maybe it's his goofy zoomies, his love of snuggling, or the way he looks up at you with that irresistible fluffy face. Whatever it is, everyone who meets him seems to fall under his spell. Umbrella is playful, affectionate, funny, and incredibly loving—a puppy who wants nothing more than to be someone's best friend. And honestly? With a face like that, he doesn't stand much chance of staying available for long.
