I arrived at the shelter as a stray and both of my eyes were severely infected. One of my eyes had completely ruptured and the other eye was very close to rupturing. I also had a very high fever. I am receiving excellent medical care and and am sweet/friendly. Everyone is trying to help me remain as comfortable as possible until I'm stable enough for more treatment and surgery. My care initially involved staying at an emergency clinic and my treatment is shaping up to be very costly. But I am eating well and fighting because I'm determined to recover and have a great life. If you'd like to help me and other pets that enter the shelter with serious medical issues, please consider making a donation to the shelter. The Community Giving Fund is an easy way to donate online. Thank you! Notes from my foster: `Chupa Chups is a very sweet and adorable kitten, and I love him for his gentle personality. He enjoys being rubbed on the cheeks and under the chin, and though his vision is obscured, this does not stop him from being the adventurous explorer that he is born to be. Though he cannot see very much, he does see my shadow and hear my voice and will follow me wherever I go, and I think that is the most cutest thing ever. My favorite thing about Chupa Chups is that despite appearing weak, sick and small, he does not give up and is showing me that every day he is fighting to get better and proving to me that he will become the proud king of the jungle that he is.` `Update - his personality bloomed after surgery! I love how playful and energetic he has become since the first time I fostered him. He seems happier knowing that he is cared for. Chupa Chups is very sweet and doesn't mind being picked up. There are times where I picked him up and hold him close to my neck and he leans in. He enjoys kisses on the head and loves making biscuits on you.`
