Meet Nova! If you're looking for a giant best friend with an even bigger heart, Nova is your guy! This handsome 1-year-old Cane Corso mix weighs in at 123 pounds and is equal parts adventure buddy and cuddle enthusiast. Nova is incredibly social, confident with new people, and loves nothing more than spending time with his humans—whether that's exploring the neighborhood, chewing a bone in the yard, or curling up for some serious snuggle time. Nova is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and has adjusted beautifully to foster life. He sleeps quietly through the night in his crate and has had no accidents in his foster home. While he may be a little hesitant to kennel during the day, he settles quickly and happily trots into his crate when it's "time for bed." As a young, intelligent giant-breed dog, Nova will thrive with a family that can provide plenty of exercise, training, and mental enrichment. He absolutely loves being outdoors and would do best with a securely fenced yard or property where he can stretch his legs and enjoy the fresh air. Because of his size and strength, he isn't a fit for apartment living or a home where he would be crated for long hours without adequate exercise. Nova has shown positive interest in other dogs and has successfully walked and played with a neutral dog, but any canine companionship should be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Due to his size (and his adorable habit of leaning into people for affection), he would do best in a home with children aged 13 and older. One of Nova's most charming quirks? Every morning he likes to use your shoulders as a stretching post while greeting you. He also gets "cuddle zoomies," tucking his head under you while sticking his rear end straight up in the air. It's impossible not to smile around him! Nova is looking for a home that understands giant breeds and is ready to help a young dog continue growing into the amazing companion he's already becoming. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
