Meet Pinkerton: Ready for Her Second Chance! Pinkerton is a sweet girl who is officially looking for her happily-ever-after. She recently came into our care through no fault of her own, and we are dedicated to helping her feel her absolute best so she can blossom in a loving new home. Her Journey & Health Update Pinkerton hadn't seen a vet in quite a while, but she has been an absolute champ during her recent checkups! We’ve already gotten the ball rolling on her wellness care: Fully Vetted: She is now up-to-date on her rabies and distemper vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, and has received flea prevention. Healthy Basics: She tested negative for FeLV, FIV, and heartworms! Comfort & Care: Pinkerton came to us with some itchy skin from a past flea issue, but she has already received treatment to stop the bugs in their tracks. Her skin is currently healing, and she is feeling much more comfortable. Future Needs: Like many mature kitties, Pinkerton will need a dental procedure (including some extractions) after her routine pre-op lab work is completed to ensure her mouth feels brand new. (Note: Pinkerton was declawed on all four paws in 2014). The Perfect Home Pinkerton was surrendered to us after having some trouble consistently using her litter box. However, it’s incredibly common for cats to avoid the box when they are dealing with untreated fleas, dental discomfort, or the long-term phantom pain that can sometimes come with four-paw declawing. With her medical needs finally being addressed, Pinkerton is looking for a patient, understanding adopter who will give her a stress-free environment to settle into.
