MEET HENRIETTA — A SWEET GIRL READY FOR A FRESH START Henrietta came to us as a stray after getting into her finder's chicken coop, which unfortunately did not end well for the chickens. No nearby neighbors claimed her, though they compensated the finders for their loss. Our Animal Control Officer brought her in for her stray hold, and no one came to reclaim her. After her hold, she met a similar-sized neutered male here at the shelter. She froze at first, unsure of what to expect, then gently laid in the grass and rolled over so he could sniff and get to know her. She was tolerant of his energetic attempts to play and showed a calm, sweet nature. She quickly showed us she preferred people and belly rubs over rambunctious dog play. Henrietta will need a family who can keep her safely supervised outdoors due to her strong interest in chickens. She is confident the right people will understand, and we agree. We do not have information on how she does with cats and cannot test for this. Meet-and-greets with dogs and children are recommended to ensure a good match. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion who enjoys human attention and gentle affection, Henrietta may be the perfect addition to your family. All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines and preventatives. Adopters should establish routine veterinary care after adoption.
