SPECIAL NEEDS: Lizzie has persistent mild upper respiratory infection complicated by viral symptoms. She is taking Famciclovir to suppress viral symptoms which seems to help. If she has recurrent eye or nasal discharge her new owner's veterinarian may prescribe a treatment of Famciclovir which could potentially last from a few weeks to life. Our veterinarian has prescribed a few more weeks of it and we will send that supply with her new owner. Lizzie does not let her medical symptoms effect her fun! Lizzie is a stunning and beautiful Lynx Piont Siamese mix. She is very high energy and goes crazy when you break out the feather wand. She can jump so high! But when she finally tires out she can be sweet and cuddly. She likes her people, is very curious and will follow you around to see what you are up to. She can be a picky eater but loves Churu treats and Fancy Feast gravy chicken lovers wet food. She has no fear and got along great with my cat-friendly dogs. But she does need another kitty to teach her the ropes. She has been alone most of her life working through some health issues (she is healthy now!) so she has a tendency to use her claws while playing. Another cat will teach her what is acceptable and what is not. She is darling, beautiful and just one great little girl. She came from a small rural shelter that often has to make difficult decisions due to the terrible overpopulation crisis that exists today. They reached out to us because she was so darn sweet, and they couldn't bear to think about the alternative. She came in with her third eyelids exposed quite a bit, which has improved, and has imrpoved dramatically after a course of meds. Meet Lizzie by applying to adopt to be the first to schedule a meet and greet or attend our weekly adoption event from 12-4pm on Saturday at PetSmart, Bleachery Blvd. All cats are spayed/neutered, FELV/FIV tested, microchipped, up-to-date on age-appopriate vaccines, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.
