About

Abby is the victim of housing issues. We understand her family lost their housing, and had taken her in when the family residing in the home previous to them also lost their housing. It’s no wonder that Abby wanted nothing to do with any of us for two days. Her doggy mind was surely wondering how long she would be at the shelter, or what she might have to endure in the next few days. The good news: a Volunteer, who appears to be a magician when it comes to working with scared dogs! Thank you to Dora for realizing Abby was scared, and her barking was fearful. No aggression. Just wondering what was going to happen next. Today she went out on a leash, ran, hopped, jumped, allowed us to vaccinate, allowed us to stroke and pet her, allowed us to tell her how beautiful she will be once she has been groomed, and how much we will love her and help her find a new home! Sometimes dogs just need that verification. They need positive reinforcement not only in training, but with our behavior and the way we treat them. We’re hoping someone will be willing to give that to Abby. She is a doodle mix of some sort, and we’d love ❤️ to help her discover herself! What an amazing dog she is going to be!
