Onyx – 3-Year-Old English Bulldog (45 lbs) Onyx is a lovable, goofy, and affectionate English Bulldog who has been through far more than any dog should. At just three years old, he has already had several homes—each struggling to manage his bladder stone condition and strict dietary needs. After two bladder stone surgeries , it is no longer recommended for him to undergo additional procedures. Going forward, his stones must be managed and dissolved through his prescription diet and high water intake . Medical & Dietary Needs Onyx must remain on Hill’s Science Diet U/D (both wet and dry) and cannot have any other food or treats. His “treats” are ice cubes—and he loves them! A bag of dry food plus a case of wet food costs approximately $200 and lasts about 5-6 weeks. ($130 for the dry and $60 for the canned food - he does not require the canned food but he likes it!) Bulldogs can be expensive, and it’s important that his future family is fully prepared to maintain his medical and dietary routine for life. In his foster home, Onyx is thriving. As long as his meals are prepared just the way he likes them, he’s a happy, wiggly boy. Personality & Behavior Onyx is the definition of a bulldog: silly, sweet, stubborn, and full of charm. He loves other dogs—especially fellow bulldogs—and his best friend is Stanley, who matches his rough‑and‑tumble play style. He enjoys toys, chewies, sunshine, and most of all… being with his people . He follows his foster mom everywhere and has major FOMO if he’s not included. He is: Crate trained Housebroken (may have occasional urinary drips) Great with other dogs Good with cats Good with kids , but due to his strict diet, he is best suited for an adult-only home or one with older teens (15+) who can understand his food restrictions. Onyx loves walks, car rides, and visiting the local brewery for extra attention. He will need a home where someone is around often to let him outside regularly. What Onyx Needs Onyx has been bounced around too many times, and he deserves stability, commitment, and love. His future family must be financially prepared to maintain his prescription diet and ongoing care. In return, Onyx will give you unwavering loyalty, endless entertainment, and the sweetest companionship. If you’re looking for a devoted best friend with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Onyx may be the perfect match. Onyx has been neutered, is current on all vaccinations, microchipped, and has tested negative for heartworm. His adoption fee is $500, and he will go to his new home with his prescription food.
