Raine's journey has looked a little different from her siblings', and her future family will need to appreciate her for exactly who she is. Found living outdoors in Commerce City with little human interaction during her earliest weeks, Raine remains the most cautious of the group. While she has made meaningful progress in foster care, she is still learning to trust people and will need adopters who are committed to continuing that process at her pace. Raine loves playing with her siblings and enjoys receiving gentle head scratches once she feels comfortable. She can be picked up when necessary for things like moving between rooms or going into a carrier, but she is not currently a fan of handling and prefers to keep all four paws on the ground. What Raine needs most is patience, consistency, and realistic expectations. She may never be the cat who demands to be held or spends hours curled up in someone's lap—and that's okay. Many cats with feral beginnings show affection in quieter, more independent ways. At the same time, she's still very young, and her story is still being written. With continued socialization and a patient home, she may continue surprising us. Raine would do best in a home with another confident cat, ideally one of her siblings, who can help show her that the world isn't such a scary place. For the right adopter, helping Raine continue her journey will be incredibly rewarding. This kitten was rescued after being born in an industrial area of Commerce City, CO.
