Kovu (A142071) is a 6-month-old Terrier mix who weighed 47.8 pounds on intake! 06/16/26 Kovu, previously known as Princess, is back at the shelter and looking for her new place to call home. Kovu was described as very trainable; however, when left alone, she becomes very vocal and destructive, leading to housing issues. Her adoptive owner was working on crate training, but it was not going well. We encourage her next owner to work with a certified trainer to continue working on her manners and see what tips and tricks will help the best. We also recommend reaching out to your vet, as her surrendering owner felt these behaviors could be linked to separation anxiety. Kovu was said to be housebroken and knows her basic commands. She is very treat-motivated, which helps with training (however, she can be a little nibbly out of excitement! Kovu was said to have lived with another dog, cat, and fish in her last home! It is important that appropriate introductions are made to help set her up for success with new animals. In her original home it was noted that she liked to chase after cats, so if you have a cat please keep this in mind. Kovu was known to bark at other animals when greeting them for the first time, and can become a bit overexcitable. She was also noted to have a rough style of play, which is not always appreciated. If you are interested in meeting Kovu, please let us know! 05/11/26 These sisters are eager to find their new loving homes! They were the last of their litter and were very loved! These girls were said to do fantastic with babies and children, and generally have very outgoing and friendly personalities; however, Ally was known to be the shyest of the three. They may initially bark at new people, but once introductions are made, they are lovebugs. They were known to chase after cats, so they are looking for a cat-free home environment. It is also important to ensure you are making appropriate introductions with new dogs. These girls were said to be kennel-trained, housebroken, ride well in vehicles, and even working on their basic commands! They are still young and would benefit from attending basic obedience classes to continue with their manners. If you are interested in meeting Princess, please let us know!
