About

Hatch Date: 2020 Coco is the sweetest Ring-Necked Dove that you’ll meet. She’s an approximately 5.5-year-old healthy female. Even though she’s been in one household for her entire life, she readily accepted her foster mom as her new flock mate. She is low-key, friendly, inquisitive, and gives off a sense of peacefulness when she coos. When petting her, her feathers are the softest her foster mom has ever felt. Coco’s wings aren’t clipped. Even so, she doesn’t fly very well, or very far. Because of this, she would not do well in a home with cats or dogs. She is hand-trained a bit and will do the “step-up” command with some coaxing. She enjoys sitting on her foster mom's shoulder and cooing. She is generally quiet, but does have a soothing coo, which is relaxing. When her foster mom is home, Coco is out of her cage. She is content to sit near her foster mom, on her lap, shoulder or hand, or wandering around her exploring the surroundings. She’s good around both male and female humans. She would thrive in a quiet, stable home with someone who is around often and happy to spend lots of time with her. She goes in her covered cage around sundown and is up around sunrise. She sleeps throughout the night and coos in the morning to come out and greet the day. Coco hasn’t shown any signs of aggression, but will let you know if you’re doing something she doesn’t like by backing away. She’ll be a sweet and loving companion. Coco was tested for Chlamydia. Coco is being fostered in Easton, PA, and will require an in-person visit before adoption. We will not ship our adoptable birds. We only allow approved applicants to make visits. For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA.
