Ava is with our sister rescue in LA and is heading to NJ on 6/27 Meet Ava — 27 pounds of resilience, sweetness, and second chances. Not long ago, Ava’s story could have ended very differently. She was spotted being pushed out of a car and left on the side of the road—confused, scared, and completely alone. But fate had other plans. A kind-hearted “finder son” scooped her up, held her close, and gave her the safety she so desperately needed in that moment. And from there, Ava’s new chapter began. Despite the betrayal she experienced, Ava chose love. She is affectionate, trusting, and incredibly people-focused—proof that her heart is still wide open. She bonds quickly, leans in for comfort, and seems to understand that better days are ahead. Ava is a perfect medium size at just 27 pounds, with adorable features that hint at a corgi/cattle dog mix (though your guess is as good as ours). She’s playful, social, and enjoys the company of other dogs. Even better, she absolutely adores the neighborhood kids who come by to play—tail wagging, ready for fun, and soaking up every bit of attention. What Ava is looking for now is simple: a home where she will never be left behind again. A family who will cherish her, include her, and remind her every single day that she is safe, wanted, and loved. She’s already proven she’s capable of forgiveness. Now she just needs someone worthy of it. Could that be you? Ava is fixed, micro-chipped, and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption donation is $500. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.
