About

Meet Lotus Lotus is a sweet 5‑year‑old Catahoula mix with a heart as big as her smile. She first came to us in 2021, and through no fault of her own, she has found her way back. Her family was absolutely heartbroken to return her — their youngest child developed severe allergies to dogs, and they wanted the very best for Lotus. Lotus is a people‑loving girl who greets everyone with a happy grin and a wagging tail. She’s wonderfully behaved, especially behind the counter where she loves to hang out like the perfect little receptionist. She gets along well with other dogs, cats, and kids, making her an easy fit for many types of homes. When she’s in her room, you’ll often find her curled up with her blanket and toys, cozy as can be. She’s also one of our regular lobby dogs, just enjoying the company of staff and visitors. Lotus is gentle, affectionate, and ready to bring joy to a new family who will adore her as much as her last one did. She’s truly a special girl looking for her second chance. Lotus's adoption fee is $200, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: https://www.acskc.org/adopt-1 Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! We welcome adopters from out of state to apply! _ When it comes to our pets, we're all-inclusive! ACSKC Health Care for Each Adopted Pet Includes: Dogs: Preventatives for parasites, vaccines (Kennel Cough, Distemper, Rabies), spay/neuter, microchip, behavioral assessment. Cats: Parasite treatment, FeLV/FIV testing, deworming for kittens, vaccines (Distemper, Rabies), spay/neuter, microchip.
