About

Hypatia — The Queen Is Ready for Her Forever Home For months, you've followed Hypatia's journey. You've celebrated her victories, cheered for every ounce lost, worried through her medical appointments, and watched her slowly become healthier, stronger, and more comfortable And now... Hypatia is officially ready for adoption. Hypatia's Story Hypatia's life hasn't always been easy. At some point early in her life, her original owner gave her away. After that, her story becomes less clear. We don't know exactly how many homes she may have had over the years. What we do know is that when her most recent owner passed away, Hypatia's future was suddenly uncertain The family was discussing putting her outside. An overweight, middle-aged indoor cat who had spent her life relying on people. Thankfully, that never happened. Instead, Hypatia came to Heartland, where it quickly became clear she needed help. She was carrying far more weight than her tiny frame was ever meant to support, and the extra weight had taken a significant toll on her body But Hypatia never gave up. With veterinary care, a carefully managed diet, and lots of love, she began the journey that so many of you have followed from the very beginning The Queen You Know and Love Hypatia has become a favorite everywhere she goes. Loves attention and companionship Enjoys spending time with her people Queen of the Lobby at Whisker Station Full of personality and charm She isn't demanding. She just likes being near her people. The kind of cat who will happily keep you company while you work, watch TV, read a book, or simply relax Look How Far She's Come One of our favorite recent milestones? Hypatia now uses a ramp at the café to get onto her favorite chair all by herself And she uses it beautifully. It may seem like a small thing, but for a cat whose mobility was once so limited by obesity, it represents just how much progress she has made She still has her adorable little "clomp" when she walks, likely from years of carrying excess weight, but she moves around so much more comfortably than she once did. Every step tells the story of how far she's come Hypatia's Ideal Home Hypatia is looking for a calm, loving home where she can continue her healthy lifestyle and enjoy being someone's cherished companion. A family committed to helping her maintain her progress A quieter home environment Plenty of love and companionship A place where she can continue being treated like the queen she is Because of her early kidney disease and ongoing weight-management journey, her adopter will need to be committed to helping her stay on the path that has helped her become healthier and happier. What We Hope For Hypatia More than anything, we hope Hypatia never has to wonder where she belongs again. She's lost homes. She's lost people. She's faced challenges that weren't her fault. And through it all, she has remained loving, trusting, and full of grace. Now it's time for permanence. It's time for a family who will love her through every stage of life and give her the forever she deserves After everything she's overcome, we think it's finally her turn.
