(DOB 1/16/2026) Due to Hunter’s young age, he has not been neutered yet. For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within a 1-hour drive time of Wake Forest NC). If you're looking for a loyal sidekick with a big heart and an even bigger personality, Hunter may be your perfect match. This handsome hound mix is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves being around his people and isn't shy about letting you know when he'd like a little extra attention. Hunter will happily "chat" with you when he's feeling social, which is one reason he'd do best in a house rather than an apartment setting. Hunter enjoys the company of other dogs, but he plays hard and loves a good rough-and-tumble wrestling match. Because of his play style, he would be happiest either as an only dog soaking up all the attention or with a confident, friendly female dog who can appreciate his enthusiastic approach to playtime. Like many young dogs, Hunter has energy to burn and would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard where he can stretch his legs and explore. He could also do well with an active family committed to providing regular exercise, adventures, and opportunities to channel his puppy enthusiasm in positive ways. Hunter is doing well with leash walking and would love a family willing to continue helping him polish his skills. He's also doggie-door trained and does an excellent job taking care of business when he has access to one. In homes without a doggie door, he can be successful when kept on a consistent potty schedule. Most of all, Hunter is a loving, people-oriented companion who is ready to trade foster life for a forever family. As part of Hunter’s $325 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. In addition to the adoption fee, a $100 spay/neuter deposit and puppy spay/neuter agreement will also be required. The deposit will be returned once the puppy is altered.
