At just 5 months old and 5 pounds, Chachi is proof that big personalities come in tiny packages. This adorable little survivor was rescued from the euthanasia list at a South Texas shelter and is now looking for a home that will help him grow into the amazing dog he is destined to be. Chachi is playful, energetic, curious, and always ready for his next adventure. He absolutely loves toys and can entertain himself for hours tossing them around and exploring everything within reach. If you’re looking for a fun companion with endless enthusiasm, Chachi delivers. Like any puppy, Chachi is still learning. He is not fully housebroken yet, but he has been consistently using puppy pads and is making good progress. He is also at a critical age where training is essential. Chachi is smart, fearless, energetic, and incredibly inquisitive, which means he needs an owner committed to teaching him manners, providing structure, and maintaining consistent boundaries. Without proper training and guidance, he could easily become a handful. Chachi’s adopter must also be committed to crate training. Crate training will help with housebreaking and, just as importantly, provide him with a safe and secure environment when he cannot be directly supervised. Like many puppies, Chachi is curious and fearless, and he could easily get himself into trouble by chewing electrical cords, getting into household items, or finding other creative ways to cause mischief. A properly introduced crate will help keep him safe while setting him up for success. Potential adopters should also know that Chachi is an accomplished escape artist. He can climb out of an X-pen and can slip through an open door in the blink of an eye. Because of this, he will not be placed in a home with young children who may accidentally allow him to escape. A secure, physically fenced yard is required, and Chachi must always be supervised when outdoors. This is non-negotiable. At only 5 pounds, he is small enough to be vulnerable to predators such as coyotes and hawks. His safety depends on vigilant supervision and a secure environment. Chachi is looking for an active, responsible adopter who understands that puppies require time, training, and commitment. In return, you’ll get a hilarious, affectionate, toy-loving little sidekick who will keep you smiling every day. If you’re ready for a tiny dog with a huge personality, Chachi may be the perfect match. Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for his entire life (up to 15+ years or more.) You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. His adoption fee is $200. This includes his neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, Tri-Heart® Plus chewable tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar. Please be aware that puppies and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so interested parties are encouraged to apply online at www.saspca.org. Please ensure your application is complete before submitting. We do verify property ownership, landlord references, apartment/HOA restrictions, veterinary references, and criminal histories.
