Ridge was originally found wandering as a stray on a South Dakota Reservation, and he was transferred to MCHS on 6/13/2026 via one of our rescue friends. He is a gentle giant of a dog who currently weighs 76 pounds. He could be around 2 years old and is as nice as they come. We will get him vet checked and neutered soon and his fee is $150. Ridge is a large mixed breed boy who has some merle markings and a tail that appears to have been docked, like a Doberman's. We're guessing he could be mixed with at least Doberman, catahoula, and perhaps shepherd. He might need a little basic training but he's willing to please and ready to learn. He loves people and has done okay with other dogs. He will require regular exercise. Kids over 8 would be best due to his size. He's simply the best! NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
