He enjoys being close to people and feels safest when he is included, cared for, and part of a loving home. He is the kind of puppy who bonds quickly and looks to his humans for comfort, guidance, and reassurance. At his age, Poncho is still learning about the world around him. Everything is new, and he is in a critical stage of development where structure, consistency, and positive experiences will shape the adult dog he becomes. He enjoys cuddles, attention, and exploring at a calm, puppy pace. As a Terrier mix, Poncho is likely to be intelligent, curious, and loyal. Terrier-type dogs are known for their personality and eagerness to engage with their environment. He will thrive in a home that provides guidance, enrichment, and opportunities to learn and grow. Poncho would thrive in a home prepared for: Ongoing puppy training and supervision Daily exercise, playtime, and enrichment Positive socialization experiences Structure, consistency, and routine A lifelong commitment to his emotional and physical well-being He is still in the learning stage and will need a family committed to helping him build confidence, manners, and security as he grows. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Like most rescue puppies, Poncho may not have had early structure, training, or socialization before entering care. Puppies at this stage are still developing basic life skills and require patient, consistent guidance. Adopters should expect normal puppy behaviors such as chewing, accidents, teething, and learning household routines. These are all part of healthy development and will improve with time and training. Poncho will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Daily structure and routine Continued socialization and exposure Patience, consistency, and supervision Gentle guidance during development Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule : 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn routine 3 months to feel fully at home With stability and patience, Poncho will grow into a confident and loving companion. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a puppy is a lifelong commitment that includes training, exercise, routine veterinary care, and emotional responsibility. Poncho will need: Routine vet visits and vaccine boosters Preventative care (fleas, ticks, parasites) Proper nutrition for growth and development Daily exercise and enrichment Safe indoor living environment Ongoing training and socialization Because he is still very young, consistency and structure are especially important in shaping his future behavior and confidence. Poncho is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside.
