Gentle Ginger Ginger is an incredibly sweet, affectionate girl who loves people and is happiest when she’s close to her humans. She may be a tiny bit shy for the first few minutes when meeting someone new, but it doesn’t take long before her signature wiggly butt and warm personality come shining through. Once she says hello, she’s all about love, attention, and cuddles. If given the choice, Ginger would happily spend the entire day curled up in someone’s lap. Ginger is dog-friendly and is fine around other dogs, but she’s more of a spectator than a participant when it comes to playtime. She is very comfortable having her own space and may become overwhelmed by highly energetic dogs. Can you believe she is an Aussie? This is unlikely to be a lifetime trait but for right now Ginger prefers a moderate to calm dog environment. Ginger has no issues with polite greetings and is fine to let other dogs sniff around her. She is never aggressive and she’s good at communicating her comfort level with other dogs; if another dog gets too close to her “bubble,” she’ll politely let them know she’d prefer some space with a few barks. In addition to being smart Ginger is also wonderfully well-mannered. She walks beautifully on a leash and knows several commands, including sit, down, place, stay AND and she has fairly reliable recall. Ginger is fully potty trained, behaves well in the home and has the kind of calm, easygoing personality that makes her a wonderful companion. Ginger would thrive in a home that appreciates a gentle, affectionate dog who values both companionship and and “down time. Ginger’s definitely ready for a forever home, and after she has some time to decompress in her new environment she will be a more outgoing and sociable Canine Companion. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend, a definite cuddle buddy and a loving companion to share your days with, Ginger could be the perfect match for you! If you’re interested in meeting Ginger for adoption, please complete our application on the website below and then TEXT SARA: 214-549-9905 So I can check your application and get back to you! www.dashdog.org General Info - PLEASE READ! *Our $450 adoption fee is based on the cost of rescuing, transporting and vetting each dog; we do not try to compete on prices with municipal shelters whose funds are paid by the city.
