Find your new feline friend! Meet Austin! Austin is a big, loveable grey tabby who lives to be petted. He was found in May of 2026 living near a school. From his friendly demeanor and attitude, we believe he must have been somebody's cat at some time. Given the way we found him we are unsure of his age but guess he is between 2 & 3 years old. He was already fixed and ear tipped so Austin was brought up to date on Rabies and Feline Leukemia vaccinations and is now micro chipped. Unfortunately, it was found Austin has FIV. FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is not transferrable to humans and can only be spread thru deep biting wounds (fighting) from one infected cat to another. FIV makes cats more susceptible to infection, but living indoors minimizes those infection opportunities. An FIV cat can live a normal life but it is best they be an inside cat with either no other cats or a home where a FIV cat already lives to reduce the risk of it being transferred to other cats. Austin will always be happy to see you and looking for your attention. He readily allows his nails to be cut and any other grooming tasks. He uses the litter box with no issues. Other than the FIV, he is happy and healthy. ***CGCCC Special note: in 30 + years of cats, Austin takes the prize as, at first meeting, the friendliest cat we've ever found. It will take a dedicated adopter to bring Austin into their life. If you think you can be this person please contact us for more information or fill out an adoption form at our website https://www.cgacommunitycatcoop.com/forms/ Filling out an application will allow us to go further with the adoption process and set up a meet and greet for Austin or any others of our available animals you may be interested in meeting.
