Fido would thrive in a home prepared for: Daily companionship and interaction Continued training and guidance Mental stimulation and enrichment Structure, consistency, and routine Plenty of love and affection A lifelong commitment to his emotional and physical well-being His loving personality and cuddly nature make him an excellent companion for individuals, couples, or families looking for a devoted best friend. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from uncertain beginnings and may not have had structure, socialization, or training before arriving at rescue. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should expect to continue training and support after adoption. Like all rescue dogs, Fido may need time to adjust to a new home and routine. Patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement will help him settle in and build confidence as he learns his new surroundings. Fido will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Daily structure and routine Continued socialization and exposure Exercise and mental stimulation Patience, consistency, and supervision Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule : 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, guidance, and commitment, dogs like Fido blossom into deeply loyal lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes training, daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, financial responsibility, and emotional commitment throughout every stage of life. Fido will need: Daily walks and interaction Continued training and guidance Routine veterinary care and wellness exams Preventative care including flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Proper nutrition and weight management Mental stimulation and enrichment A safe, stable, indoor living environment As a Pug, care should be taken during hot weather and strenuous exercise. Adopters should monitor for overheating and always provide access to fresh water, shade, and a comfortable environment. Fido is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside.
