To ensure Spoons #1 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 72 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails) . Spoons #1 | 1 year old Terrier Mix | Sweet, sensitive boy learning to shine Spoons is a 1-year-old Terrier mix weighing about 31 pounds, with a sleek black coat and adorable white socks. This gentle, sweet boy is still learning about the world, but he has already made incredible progress in building his confidence. When Spoons first arrived, he was too scared to walk on leash, but he now enjoys long walks and has lovely manners—no pulling, just happy to be by your side. He can still be fearful of unfamiliar dogs in public and does best on quieter routes with a patient handler. In the home, Spoons is affectionate, playful, and loves being close to his people. He enjoys toys, playing fetch, and running in the yard, but he’s just as happy to relax and cuddle. He has adorable habits like resting his head on you or offering his paw when he wants attention. Spoons is house trained with a consistent schedule, though he has not yet learned to potty on leash. He does well with other dogs in the home once he has time to warm up and would likely thrive with a calm, friendly canine companion. He has also done well with cats. Spoons does experience anxiety when left alone and with crate training, so he will need a patient adopter who is committed to helping him continue to build confidence and independence. His ideal home includes a secure fenced yard, a calm environment, and someone willing to invest time in training and structure. With patience, love, and consistency, Spoons will be an incredibly loyal and loving companion. If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $400 . Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.
