All interested people should submit an adoption application as their first step. Meet Velour! Just like his name, Velour is soft, sweet, and impossible not to love. At about 4 months old, this adorable kitten is a little shy when meeting new people. He likes to take a moment to make sure you're safe, but once you've earned his trust, he transforms into a total cuddle bug. Velour will happily melt into your arms, purr up a storm, and often drift off to sleep while being held. While he loves people, his heart truly belongs to other cats. Velour is absolutely obsessed with feline friends and wants to be with them all the time. If he can't get to another cat, he'll let you know with his tiny cries. Because he forms such strong bonds with other cats and doesn't enjoy being alone, Velour must be adopted into a home with at least one young, friendly cat who can be his companion and playmate. And speaking of play—this kitten has energy to spare! When it's playtime, Velour is a whirlwind of zoomies, toys, and endless kitten antics. He never seems to stop moving. But once he's worn himself out, he's perfectly content to curl up for a cozy nap. Because he's so social and loves animal companionship, we think Velour could also do well in a home with a cat-friendly dog. If you're looking for a kitten who will bring nonstop fun, endless purrs, and a whole lot of love into your life—and you have a feline friend waiting for him—Velour may be the perfect addition to your family. All pets adopted from GDHS are spayed or neutered, have vaccinations brought up to date, are on heartworm preventative (dogs), FIV/FELV tested (cats) and microchipped. The Greater Derry Humane Society does not have a physical shelter, and all visits are by appointment only.
