Meet Evander! Evander may have started out as a shy guy, but once he feels safe, his sweet personality begins to shine through. When he first arrived, he preferred the comfort of his hiding spot and was unsure about human interaction, offering a few cautious hisses to let everyone know he was nervous. But beneath that timid exterior was a gentle cat just waiting for patience and kindness. Since settling into foster care, Evander has made wonderful progress. He has grown more comfortable in his surroundings, is exploring his space, and is eating and using his litter box regularly. As his confidence grows, so does his curiosity. One of the most endearing things about Evander is the contrast between his brave face and his soft heart. Even during veterinary care, he allowed handling with remarkable tolerance. Gentle chin scratches and head rubs earned purrs, and he happily leaned into affection, even seeking more pets when they stopped. Those little moments reveal the loving companion hiding beneath his cautious exterior. Evander is looking for a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time.
