Koda Koda is a 2-year-old Catahoula mix who recently found herself back at the shelter after being returned because she simply wasn't the right fit for her previous family. Through no fault of her own, Koda is once again searching for a place to call home. The shelter can be a difficult place for a sensitive dog. Koda is naturally reserved around new people and takes time to build trust. While she may not be the dog who immediately runs up to greet strangers, those willing to be patient with her will discover a gentle soul who is trying her best to navigate a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming.Koda would thrive in a calm, quiet household with adopters who understand that trust is earned, not rushed. She will benefit from continued confidence-building, positive reinforcement training, and a family willing to celebrate the small steps that lead to big successes. What Koda needs most is someone who sees beyond her shy demeanor and recognizes the wonderful dog she has the potential to become. She deserves a home where she can feel safe, build resilience, and learn that she never has to worry about losing her family again.Koda isn't asking for much—just patience, understanding, and a chance to finally belong. If you believe every dog deserves someone who won't give up on them, Koda may be waiting for you.
