Adoption fee: $800 Meet Whimsy: Tiny Dog, Big Feelings At just 6 pounds and 1-2 years old, Whimsy may look like a delicate little Maltese mix, but don't let her size fool you— this tiny diva has enough personality to fill an entire room. Somewhere between a devoted lap dog and a dramatic leading actress, Whimsy is the perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and unapologetically sassy. A Day in the Life of Whimsy Whimsy starts her mornings whenever her person gets up—typically between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays and a little later on weekends. She begins the day with a stroll around the neighborhood, where she handles her business immediately and then enjoys a leisurely walk before heading home for breakfast. Mealtime is serious business. Whimsy knows exactly where to go when breakfast is served, and she happily races to her pen before enthusiastically inhaling her meal. Once fueled up, she's ready for whatever the day brings. If you're working from home, Whimsy would like you to know that she fully intends to participate in every meeting—from your lap. She considers herself an excellent coworker and takes her role as professional cuddle consultant very seriously. On office days, she's perfectly content relaxing in her pen after a brief protest, especially when she knows a midday potty break is coming. In the evenings, Whimsy enjoys a walk, dinner, and quality cuddle time before heading off to sleep in her crate. She sleeps quietly through the night and wakes up ready for another day of being adorable. Professional Lap Dog, Amateur Drama Queen When Whimsy is relaxed, she is pure magic. She loves nothing more than curling up on your lap, resting her tiny chin on your chest, and gazing into your eyes as if you're the only two beings in the universe. She's incredibly affectionate and loves physical contact. In fact, she firmly believes petting should continue indefinitely. If your hand stops moving, she'll politely remind you by nudging it with her nose or gently pulling it back toward her with her paws. She's happiest when she's close to her people and involved in whatever they're doing. But Whimsy also has another side. She knows exactly what she wants, and she is not shy about sharing her opinions. If she decides she's been left behind on the patio, she'll alert you. If everyone heads toward the bedroom and she lingers behind for ten seconds, she'll alert you. If life is not proceeding according to Whimsy's expectations, she'll make sure everyone knows. The Queen of Overreactions One of Whimsy's most entertaining talents is her flair for the dramatic. Her foster family's favorite example happened when another dog simply showed her teeth as a warning to back off. Rather than retreating with dignity, Whimsy immediately threw herself onto the ground and screamed as though she'd just survived a major accident. There hadn't even been any physical contact. This level of commitment to the performance deserves an award. The good news is that despite her dramatic tendencies, Whimsy is a happy, resilient little dog who bounces right back and carries on with her day. Playful, Smart, and Ready for Adventure Whimsy has recently discovered the joy of toys and playtime. She loves zooming around the house, tossing toys into the air, and even playing fetch. She'll happily bring her toy back and place it in your lap when she's ready for another round. She's wonderful on leash and enjoys her walks. Squirrels and birds don't distract her much, and she's very attentive to her person. Call her name, and she'll immediately check in with you. At only 6 pounds, she's the perfect size for adventures, whether that's exploring a hiking trail, strolling through town, or accompanying you on errands. House Manners Whimsy arrived already potty trained and has excellent bathroom habits. She strongly prefers going outside and is impressively reliable. She's also crate trained, comfortable spending time in a playpen, and has shown that she can stay home alone without anxiety. Like many clever little dogs, she does have a weakness: unattended paper towels and napkins. If left within reach, they may mysteriously transform into confetti. Her Ideal Home Whimsy would thrive with someone who appreciates both sides of her personality: the devoted cuddler and the tiny comedian. She could live with another dog, but she'll need guidance and supervision while she continues learning how to respect canine boundaries. Because she loves being the center of attention and can be a bit possessive of her people, an only-dog home may be her easiest and happiest fit. What she really wants is a person who will enjoy her constant companionship, laugh at her dramatic antics, and help her continue building confidence and good manners. Why You'll Love Her Whimsy is impossible to forget. One moment she's gazing lovingly into your eyes with her chin resting on your chest, and the next she's staging an Oscar-worthy performance because she thinks she's been abandoned three feet away on the patio. She's affectionate, funny, smart, portable, food-motivated, and full of personality. For someone looking for a tiny dog with a huge heart—and an even bigger sense of drama—Whimsy might just be your perfect match.
