Meet Jessie Jessie is a handsome and affectionate eleven-year-old boy who is looking for a new forever home after being surrendered when his owner had to move to housing that does not allow pets. While this has been a big change for him, Jessie remains the same sweet, loving companion he has always been and is ready to share his heart with a new family. This big, cuddly boy is a true lap cat who loves being close to his people. Quiet, gentle, and incredibly affectionate, Jessie is happiest when he's curled up nearby, enjoying pets, brushing sessions, and simply spending time with those he loves. He has wonderful cat box manners and the easygoing personality that makes him a joy to live with. Although Jessie is a senior, don't let his age fool you — he still has a playful side! He enjoys chasing cat wands, batting around toys, and having fun with catnip mice and catnip treats. He plays gently and never uses his claws when interacting with his people, making him a wonderful companion for a family. He also has a soft spot for crinkly things and loves exploring paper bags and rustling around in Amazon packing paper. Jessie is also quite the sun worshipper. One of his favorite pastimes is lounging in sunny windows, soaking up the warmth and watching the world go by. He spent many happy hours relaxing on a screened-in balcony and would love another sunny spot where he can enjoy the fresh air safely. This friendly, social boy enjoys meeting people and was always welcoming when children visited his home. He happily interacted and played with them and would likely do well with gentle, respectful children in his new family. While Jessie did not live with other cats, he was exposed to them when family members traveled with their pets and stayed in his home. With proper introductions and patience, he has shown that he can warm up to feline companions. Jessie enjoys being picked up and held at times, and he'll happily let you know when he's in the mood for some extra snuggles. Like many distinguished senior gentlemen, he does have a bit of arthritis, and jumping can occasionally be uncomfortable. He would greatly appreciate soft cat steps or ramps to help him reach his favorite sleeping spots and, most importantly, his favorite place of all — being close to his people. To help him stay comfortable, Jessie also prefers a larger litter box with lower sides so he can access it easily and comfortably. Jessie recently had a dental cleaning and is feeling great. He is ready to begin his next chapter with a family who will cherish him, spoil him with sunshine and cuddles, and appreciate the wonderful companionship that a loving senior cat provides.
