Meet Ernie! Ernie is a sweet, playful boy who is settling into home life beautifully. He sleeps quietly in his crate all night without any whining or accidents and has been completely house-trained in his foster home with no accidents or marking. This handsome guy already knows some basic commands, including sit and paw, and he has excellent manners at mealtime. Ernie is not food aggressive and will patiently sit before being fed. Ernie loves to play! Whether he’s chasing a ball, chewing on his favorite toys, or engaging in a game with his people, he’s always ready for some fun. Despite his playful nature, he is gentle and affectionate. His favorite things include belly rubs, head scratches, and snuggling up close to his humans. He is very tolerant and easygoing when being handled. He enjoys attention and has no issues with having his paws or face touched. Bath time was a breeze—he stood calmly throughout his bath without trying to escape or complaining. Ernie walks nicely on a leash when focused, though he does get excited when he spots squirrels or bunnies and would love to investigate! He gets along well with smaller, older dogs, although he sometimes wishes they were a little more interested in playing than they are. If you’re looking for a dog who is equal parts playful companion and cuddle buddy, Ernie may be the perfect match for your family! As part of our adoption process, references both personal and veterinarian will be checked. Sadie's also requires a home visit before we adopt any of our dogs out; therefore we only adopt to our local WNY region.
