About

Meet Zeus – A Survivor Looking for Love in His Golden Years ❤️ Zeus is a 15-year-old gentleman whose past is heartbreaking, but whose future deserves to be filled with comfort, kindness, and love. Before coming into rescue, Zeus spent months living alone in a dark basement. He rarely saw people, was only fed a couple of times a week. When Zeus was finally rescued, he was in rough shape. He had a softball-sized mass growing on his scrotum, a severe urinary tract infection, and double ear infections that had clearly gone untreated. Since then, Zeus has received the medical attention he desperately needed. His mass was successfully removed and diagnosed as a low-grade mast cell tumor with clean margins. While Zeus still has a handful of age-related medical concerns, our goal for him is no longer about putting him through more procedures, anesthesia, or surgeries. What Zeus needs now is something medicine can't provide: a home. We're looking for a special person or family who will love Zeus exactly as he is. A family that understands his best days won't be measured by medical treatments, but by soft beds, full bellies, gentle pets, sunny naps, and the comfort of knowing he belongs. Zeus doesn't need a perfect future. He just needs someone willing to make the rest of his life the best part of it. If you have room in your heart for a senior dog who has endured more than any dog should, Zeus is waiting and transportation is available to bring this special boy to you door anywhere in the US. Let's make sure Zeus's final chapter is filled with the love he should have had all along. ❤️ We do not have a facility for you to visit. You are welcome to email ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, but please complete the online application , which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com , to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10-day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fees are listed on our website and cover the cost of the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. Most dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers so there is often very little known about their history or current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC has a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, and we have trainers who will offer free phone/email support.
