Penny is a sweet, playful, calico, kitten, born with a short, bobtail! The orange bits on her fur seem to get brighter and brighter everyday. Her foster family named her Penny because she was about the size of a Penny when they got her! Found on a Meals on Wheels route, the fellow caring for her didn’t have the means or ability to keep her. She was about 3-4wks old when found and she was alone, no other litter mates. Because of this, she will sometimes nibble or rough-play with her foster humans. She is working through this and getting better everyday! For this reason, she would be best suited with a family that has another younger cat or kitten to grow and play with. Because she was separated from her mother early, she has a sweet “nursing” habit. Penny will nurse on her foster dad’s t-shirt or blankets as she falls asleep. She now has her own nursing toy that should go with her to her new home. Her foster family states she is good with other cats, with dogs and children. She spends most days chasing her foster brother’s tail, “catching” mid day light on the walls, and napping. She is high energy, like most kittens, but always takes a rest after her play sessions. She’s a great eater, and will eat both wet and dry foods, but lately has preferred dry food. Come and meet Penny! It will be hard not to fall for her sassy, calico, charm! Just be aware, she gets pretty freaked out in new situations and freaks out a bit. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.
