Skuppers is a little shadow wrapped in a fluffy Pomeranian coat. This 1-year-old, 10-pound sweetheart may be shy when you first meet him, but beneath that timid exterior is a loving companion who simply wants to be near his people. His favorite place is wherever you are. Whether you're folding laundry, making dinner, or relaxing on the couch, Skuppers will happily trail behind you to see what you're up to. He's a quiet, gentle boy who enjoys cuddling, lounging nearby, and soaking up all the love he can get. Skuppers is still discovering the world around him. Toys don't hold much interest yet, likely because they're a new experience for him, but his foster mom believes he'll continue to blossom as his confidence grows. He loves spending time outdoors and especially enjoys playing with a neighbor's dog in the yard. He's doing well with pottying outside but will need continued guidance with house-training in his new home. The good news? Skuppers is comfortable in his crate and settles in nicely when needed. Because he's still building confidence, Skuppers is not yet comfortable walking on a leash and currently refuses to walk. A securely fenced yard would be ideal, giving him a safe place to exercise, explore, and continue gaining confidence at his own pace. Skuppers has been around children as young as two years old and has done well with them. He'll need a cat-free home, but he has enjoyed spending time with other dogs. This sweet boy is looking for a patient family willing to help him continue learning that the world isn't such a scary place. In return, you'll get a loyal little companion who will happily follow you from room to room and remind you every day that the best friendships are often the quietest ones. His minimum adoption fee is $400 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
