Adoption fee: $650 Five Star may be tiny (just 8 lbs), but she's living proof that the best things really do come in small packages. This adorable 3-4 month old wire-haired Dachshund mix was rescued from a shelter and has quickly earned a five-star rating from everyone she's met. Whether she's wrestling with dogs twice her size, snuggling under a blanket, or proudly carrying herself like the biggest dog in the room, Five Star approaches life with equal parts courage, curiosity, and sweetness. A Day in the Life of Five Star Five Star starts her mornings bright and early around 6:30 AM with a trip outside alongside her foster brothers, Dino and Scout. After a little playtime while the household gets moving, she enjoys breakfast in her playpen before settling in for a well-earned puppy nap. Lunch brings another chance to romp around the backyard, explore, and play before enjoying her midday meal and another snooze. In the afternoons, she joins the family action, playing with her foster brothers while dinner is prepared and happily soaking up all the excitement around her. One of her favorite parts of the day is post-dinner snuggle time. She loves curling up with Dino after a good play session, and she's been enjoying family outings from the comfort of her sling, taking in all the sights and sounds of the world. Evenings are reserved for couch cuddles before one final potty break around 10 PM and bedtime. Sweet, Brave, and Full of Heart When Five Star first arrived, she was a little shy and unsure about her new surroundings. It took only a few days for her true personality to shine through. Now she's a confident little companion who loves both people and dogs. She's incredibly affectionate and happily hands out snuggles to her foster family and canine friends alike. While she's not a Velcro dog who needs to be attached to your side every second, she definitely enjoys being part of whatever is happening. She's curious, eager to learn, and has a wonderfully easygoing temperament. Perhaps the best way to describe Five Star is "small but mighty." She quickly figured out how to keep up with her larger foster brothers and isn't afraid to join in their games. At the same time, she's thoughtful enough to step back and observe when play gets a little too rowdy. Playful Meets Professional Cuddler Five Star has mastered the art of balancing playtime and relaxation. She loves chasing balls, zooming around the backyard, and learning new games from Dino and Scout. Every day seems to bring a new adventure or playful discovery. But once the excitement winds down, she's usually the first one searching for the nearest lap, dog bed, or blanket fort. She's sampled every dog bed in the house and seems determined to make sure each one receives proper testing. Her favorite move? Burrowing under blankets until only a tiny nose is visible. Dog-Friendly and Learning Fast Five Star lives with two resident dogs—a 25-pound Frenchie Poo and a 15-pound Shih Tzu—and absolutely adores them. She enjoys playing, snuggling, and learning the ropes from her foster brothers. She's shown excellent social skills, responds well to gentle corrections, and continues to build confidence through their guidance. She has not yet met cats or children, but her friendly, adaptable nature suggests she could do well with proper introductions. Puppy Progress Report For a young puppy, Five Star is doing wonderfully with house training. She quickly learned that outside is the place to potty and has only had a few accidents while adjusting to her new routine. She's comfortable in her playpen and continues to make great progress with crate training. Like many puppies, she may protest a bit when first settling into her crate or pen, but she has already learned to calm herself down much more quickly. She's smart, eager to learn, and benefits from consistency and patience. Her Perfect Home Five Star is remarkably adaptable and could thrive in many different types of homes. She would enjoy having another friendly dog to play with, but she'd also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as an only dog. More than anything, she's looking for a family who wants a true companion. She loves being included in daily life and enjoys spending time with her people. While she likes playtime, she's not an overly demanding or high-energy puppy and is just as happy cuddling on the couch as she is exploring the backyard. Five-Star Quality Guaranteed What makes Five Star so special is her incredible temperament. She's affectionate without being clingy, brave without being reckless, and playful without being overwhelming. She takes life's surprises in stride and approaches new experiences with confidence and curiosity. And if you need one final reason to fall in love, consider this: despite being much smaller than Dino, she regularly challenges him to games of tug-of-war. He gently lets her think she's won, and she celebrates every victory by tackling him in triumph. It's impossible not to smile when you watch her. If you're looking for a sweet, well-rounded puppy with a heart as big as her personality, Five Star is ready to earn a permanent place in your family—and trust us, she's more than worthy of her name.
