About

Forrest Stump — Proof That Different Doesn't Mean Less Amazing Forrest Stump is a very special boy with an incredible spirit and a whole lot of love to give Forrest was born with both of his back legs partially amputated... or perhaps something happened very early in life. We don't know exactly how he came to be this way, but we do know one thing: It has never stopped him from living life Forrest was living happily in a home, but when his owner had to move, Forrest and his brother were sadly left behind Forrest's Journey Forrest originally had two different-sized stumps — one longer and one much shorter. Unfortunately, the shorter stump was essentially skin over bone and repeatedly developed wounds that would not heal properly After consulting with his veterinarian, it was determined that a corrective amputation would give Forrest the best quality of life. The surgery was performed, and Forrest has done wonderfully How Forrest Gets Around The amazing thing about Forrest? He doesn't let anything slow him down Walks well using his front legs and remaining stump Needs carpeting or rugs for better traction Was offered a wheelchair... and politely declined We tried introducing him to a wheelchair, but Forrest made it very clear he preferred doing things his own way. And honestly? He gets around just fine on his own A Few Special Care Needs Forrest will need: Pine pellet litter or paper litter No clumping clay litter Because he uses his stump for mobility, small clay litter particles can become embedded and cause irritation or injury. Thankfully, this is a very simple accommodation that helps keep him comfortable and healthy About Forrest Forrest is truly one of the sweetest cats you'll ever meet. Loves affection and pets Loves to play Friendly and social Does well with other cats after proper introductions Does well with children Would likely do well with a cat-friendly dog He doesn't see himself as different. He just sees himself as a cat who wants love, toys, attention, and a family of his own Forrest Stump is proof that disabilities don't define a cat. His resilience, happiness, and loving personality shine far brighter than any physical limitation ever could
