Adoption fee: $800 Nymph: Professional Snuggler, Part-Time Fashion Critic, Full-Time Love Bug Some dogs need weeks to decide whether they trust you. Nymph needs approximately seven seconds. This 10-12 month old Maltipoo arrived at DPS with her sisters and immediately made it clear that humans are her favorite thing in the entire world. At 11 pounds, Nymph is the perfect portable companion, complete with a soft, non-shedding coat that may be a great fit for those with allergies. Her greatest passions in life include cuddling, being carried like a baby, collecting pets from complete strangers, and reminding everyone that personal space is highly overrated. If you're looking for a loyal little shadow who will adore you with her whole heart, you've just met her. A Day in the Life of Nymph Nymph starts her mornings between 6:30 and 7:00 AM. After waking up, she heads outside for a potty break before returning home for breakfast and some quality time with her people. While her foster mom heads off to work, Nymph settles in for a relaxing morning. She's remarkably trustworthy in the home and spends her time napping on the couch, lounging on her bed, or quietly waiting for her favorite humans to return. Midday brings another walk, followed by more relaxation until her evening stroll and dinner around 6 PM. Nymph has mastered the balance between being affectionate and being adaptable. While she'd happily spend every minute with her people, she also handles time alone with grace and patience. Whether her future family works from home or works outside the house, Nymph is simply grateful to be loved. At night, she alternates between sleeping in her crate and sleeping on the bed, depending entirely on her mood. Princess privileges, after all. From Frightened Puppy to Confident Explorer When Nymph first arrived, she had one thing figured out immediately: humans are wonderful. Everything else? Not so much. Grass was suspicious. Leashes were confusing. Strange noises were alarming. The world felt big and overwhelming. But Nymph has blossomed. Today, she's confidently walking on leash, eagerly heading out on adventures, and often trying to lead the way during walks. While loud noises can still make her pause and unfamiliar situations require a little patience, her confidence grows every single day. Watching Nymph discover that the world is safe has been one of the most rewarding parts of her foster journey. Velcro Dog Extraordinaire Some dogs enjoy affection. Nymph has turned affection into an art form. She loves to cuddle. She loves to snuggle. She loves to be carried like a baby. She loves baby talk. She loves resting her little head on your chest and soaking up every ounce of attention you have available. If she had her way, her people would remain within arm's reach at all times. The beautiful thing about Nymph is that while she craves closeness, she isn't demanding. She simply wants to be part of your life. Whether you're working, relaxing, watching television, or winding down after a long day, Nymph is happiest when she's nearby. Her foster mom describes her as one of the most loving dogs she has ever fostered, and it's easy to see why. Playful When It's Time, Relaxed When It's Not Nymph has a wonderful balance of playfulness and calm. She enjoys toys, treats, and outdoor adventures, especially when she has the chance to run around in a secure area. But she isn't a whirlwind of endless energy. Once she's had her walks and some time to explore, she's perfectly content to curl up on the couch and become your favorite movie-watching companion. No endless zoomies. No chaos. Just a happy little dog who knows how to enjoy both adventure and relaxation. Leash Walking Superstar One of Nymph's biggest accomplishments has been learning how to walk on leash. What started as a confusing and intimidating experience has become something she genuinely enjoys. She now walks beautifully, doesn't pull, and loves getting out to explore the neighborhood. Occasionally she'll voice an opinion about a passing dog, but most of the time she's focused on enjoying her walk and spending time with her people. House Training and Home Manners Nymph has excellent house manners. With regular potty breaks, she does wonderfully in the home and has earned free access to her foster family's condo during the workday. Any accidents have generally occurred when circumstances prevented her normal potty schedule. She is crate trained, sleeps quietly through the night, and has never been destructive. In fact, her foster family trusts her enough to leave her loose in the home while they're away. There is, however, one important disclaimer. Nymph occasionally believes clothing and toilet paper are recreational items. In perhaps her most memorable foster moment, she managed to eat half a pair of underwear before anyone realized what was happening. Future adopters should keep laundry picked up and bathroom doors closed. Nymph has many wonderful talents, but distinguishing underwear from snacks is not currently one of them. Friends, Family, and New People Nymph currently lives with a 40-pound Goldendoodle and has been wonderfully respectful of her canine roommate. She enjoys other dogs and especially loves opportunities to run and play in safe, enclosed areas. When it comes to people, Nymph shines. At a recent family barbecue, she happily made the rounds introducing herself to every guest in attendance. New people aren't strangers in Nymph's mind—they're simply friends she hasn't cuddled with yet. She hasn't spent much time around children, but her loving nature suggests she would likely do well with respectful kids who understand how to interact gently with a small dog. Nymph's Perfect Home Nymph could thrive in many different environments, but her dream home is one where she receives plenty of love, attention, and companionship. She would make an incredible best friend for someone who works from home, a devoted companion for a retiree, or a loving addition to a family looking for a gentle and affectionate dog. Most importantly, her new family should understand that while Nymph loves people unconditionally, she's still building confidence in the wider world. With patience, encouragement, and continued socialization, she will continue to flourish. Why You'll Fall in Love It's impossible not to fall for Nymph. Maybe it's the way she asks to be picked up and cradled like a baby. Maybe it's the way she greets every person she meets with genuine enthusiasm. Maybe it's her sweet face, her loving heart, or the way she quietly leans against you after a long day as if she somehow knows exactly what you need. Her foster mom says Nymph has healing powers. And honestly, after spending even a few minutes with her, you'll probably agree. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will love you with her entire heart, Nymph is waiting to meet you.
