DOCK hails from the Northern community of Keywaywin and came south with his 3 siblings, Cottage, Muskoka and Bonfire to find his forever home. He’s had his 2 sets of puppy vaccines, a microchip, “Interceptor Plus” dewormer and been deemed a healthy boy by his Vet. We have no information on either parent so the breeds we have him listed as and the size he’ll grow to be is just an educated guess. Seeing as he comes from a community with lots of stray dogs, he no doubt has many different breeds in him that are not as notable as well. He’s an outgoing puppy who loves to be with his human and follow them around, he loves it when they give him cuddles too. He’s very socialize with people and will excitedly run up to greet them with a wagging tail. With his outgoing personality and loving ways he’s ready to find his forever home where he can continue to thrive and grow. DOCK is a happy, playful puppy who’s full of curiosity and loves to spend time outside playing in his fenced-in yard. He loves to play with all sorts of toys and he’s just discovered the ones that squeak. With his outgoing personality and good nature he’s ready to find his forever home where he can continue to thrive and grow. DOCK has just started his crate training and picking up on it very quickly as he’s a very smart boy. He’s only just started going out for his bathroom breaks and be’s just starting to understand that’s the place to do his business. He’s just started to go on walks but he’s already getting to know when it’s time to go out and gets excited about going out. Due to teething, he’s at a chewing stage and needs lots of chewy toys to satisfy that urge not to chew on anything that he shouldn’t. He really loves to chew on a Nyla bone to keep those little teeth busy too. He’s starting to learn a couple of basic commands already such as “sit” for his meals and take treats “gentle.” DOCK’s ideal family would be an active one who loves the outdoors, going on hikes, walks and will take him on adventures with them. He really loves to go in a vehicle and will just rest in his crate and quietly enjoy being driven around. There’s an older puppy in the home and he’ll seek him out to romp and play with. He has 2 cats in his foster home but as of right now they’re not really interacting but we do feel be would suit a home with one especially if the cat is dog savvy. We always recommend that a slow, monitored introduction be made between both a cat and a dog in the home while the puppy is kept on a leash. He needs a fenced-in yard so he can run around and play safely. Children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be gentle, loving and caring towards animals. DOCK, like all puppies is cute, playful and a fun puppy but be’ll also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We need his adopter to commit to signing him up for puppy training/obedience classes so he can be the most well behaved puppy possible. His neuter is included in his adoption fee and his potential adopter must be in agreement to have him neuter performed by the time he’s 6 months of age. It will either be at our vet’s office or be at the Barrie SPCA. You do have the option to use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it there. However his neuter will still have to be performed in the above timeframe. For the reimbursement we will need a copy of the procedure invoice and an updated photo of him (preferably in a cone after the surgery.) The photo will be put on our fb page along with other animals that were spay/neutered that same week. If DOCK sounds like he’d suit your home and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet him. It should be noted that puppies personalities can change daily/weekly as their little brains develop. We try to keep our puppy postings as up-to-date as possible but due to their development, it’s not always possible to note 100% accurate behavioural information.
