Bane (A142325) is a 4-year-old shepherd mix who weighed over 70 lbs at intake and is looking to shed a few pounds! 05/29/26 This chunky monkey is Bane! Bane was brought to the shelter because he was not tolerant of the small children in the home. Bane was said to have growled at the 5-year-old. While growling is a form of communication for dogs since they are not able to use words, we still think it best that Bane goes to a home without small children. There must be something about kids that makes him nervous, and we don't want to put him in a situation that makes him uncomfortable. Bane can be defensive at first around strangers, but he is quite to affectionate wiggle worm when he gets comfortable. It took exactly one beggin strip for care staff to win his affection on intake! He was said to be kennel trained and housebroken, and he generally minds well and knows some basic commands. In general, Bane was described as being an outgoing and friendly dog who rides well in cars and gets along with other dogs and even cats! Bane was said to love being outside, so he may enjoy a home with a fenced in yard that will allow him to soak up the sun as he pleases.
