Meet Timmy — The Big Softie in a Rottie Suit Timmy is a 4-year-old Rottweiler mix who may look tough on the outside, but underneath he's a calm, gentle soul. He enjoys a relaxed pace, knows basic cues like `sit` and `come,` takes treats politely, and loves quiet time with his people once he feels comfortable. Timmy recently enjoyed a Doggie Day Out and proved to be an excellent companion. He rode calmly in the car, walked nicely on leash along the Bosque, ignored passing people and bicyclists, relaxed under a table at a coffee shop, and was a perfect house guest with no accidents or mischief. At home, he happily explored the yard, enjoyed his chew, and soaked up affection with some wonderful lean-ins for pets. Timmy is a thoughtful, observant dog who likes to take things slow when meeting new people. He does best when allowed to approach at his own pace rather than being rushed into interactions. Once he feels safe, his affectionate, loyal personality really shines. Because Timmy forms relationships thoughtfully, a calm meet-and-greet is the best way to get to know him. If he's joining a household with more than one person, it will help if everyone shares in positive daily activities—walks, feeding, playtime, and quiet time—during his first several days so he can build comfortable relationships with each family member.
