All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston. Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system. To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters. Our adoption fee varies by dog. We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Zelle, or cash only. donate@yorkierescuehouston.org or, if you prefer: our fundraising platform, Zeffy Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only. A FTA contract is required. Meet Charlie, a sweet 10-year-old Yorkshire Terrier with a gentle heart and lots of love to give. Charlie is a handsome black and tan boy who weighs about 10 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, housebroken, crate trained, leash trained, and rides well in the car. Charlie is affectionate, playful, goofy, and loves being close to his person. He enjoys toys, likes to fetch, follows his people around the house, and is happiest snuggling on the couch or curling up nearby. He has done well with other dogs and has been good with children, but because he is a small senior dog, he needs a home where everyone understands gentle handling. Charlie’s ideal home will be calm, loving, and secure. He can be a door/gate darter, so his adopter will need to be careful with open doors and gates. Cat compatibility is unknown. Charlie has recently received veterinary care, including lab work, heartworm testing, fecal testing, and a much-needed dental. His dental care included cleaning, polishing, full-mouth dental x-rays, laser therapy, and 7 extractions. He is also being treated for a urinary tract infection and will need appropriate follow-up care. Charlie is a loving little senior who deserves a safe forever home where he can spend his golden years being spoiled, protected, and loved.
