Hello! I am a friendly guy that was surrendered to the shelter when my owners could no longer keep me. I did well for my intake exam & vaccines, and I am ready to find my new home. The medical team is helping me with some skin issues, and OCAS can give you more information about that if you are interested in adopting me. I'll make you smile! Thank you for considering me! Insights on Drake from his fosters: `Drake is a great dog. Allowed touching on face, paws, raw spots, and belly. Never saw any reactive tendencies when we passed buses, other dogs, squirrels, bikes, runners, and children. He didn't need to walk for long (~1.5 miles) to get tired and was content laying in the house. He pulled on lead in the beginning esp at Starbucks with a lot of stimuli but tired out and was very easy to manage. He is SOO SO kind and is always smiling wanting love. NEVER JUMPED on people and overall was a well mannered dog pottery trained and didn't jump on furniture without permission.` `Drake was amazing in his dog day out. He did wonderful in the car, walked well in a busy trail with many people and dogs, listened to command to pee before getting in the car, never pulled much and followed happily for the whole 5-mile walk. Great dog who loves cuddles and gives many kisses! Seems to be house trained and potty trained. Has the biggest smile on earth. Didn't bark once. He did great in indoor coffee shop as well. Definitely a great addition to any home! My favorite thing is his big smile and how he never gets enough pets and cuddles! Always wants more he's a big baby!` `Drake was such a sweetheart! We went on two walks and he was very interested in saying hi to everyone we passed. He sat when asked as a toddler walked by and was very calm. He's just a big cuddle bug! He even rested his head on my lap in the car to get some pets. He really is a gentle giant. He walked well and was fairly good on leash in terms of not pulling very much. He also loves peanut butter. He loves getting pets and puts his head on your lap or sits right my your feet waiting for attention. He rolls over for belly rubs too and loves affection.` `He is such a cutie and loves to be around others! His tongue is a little wild and he will lick a lot but he has such a big smile you can tell he is so happy. He did great on a walk and was awesome with other strangers and dogs. He did take a few breaks to lie down and drink some water and play. He loved to play fetch and was great in the car. He's very well behaved. He's playful and will try to lick your face and get in your lap if you're sitting down. He responds well with treats and listens when he needs to. I took him for a walk around our apartment complex and then just lounged by some trees in our beer garden. He's got a big smile and a very good nature. He's going to make an excellent family dog, possibly for someone who doesn't have any other pets because he did not do well during encounters with other dogs during this Dog Day Out.` `Drake spent a recent holiday weekend with me, I planned ahead in order to stay home with him and give him a break from shelter life. He rides beautifully in a car, we had several outings throughout the weekend. He is calm and quiet and slept through the night - he was not in a crate, there were no other dogs or children and he wasn't left alone. He would get excited to have his collar and leash on but overall, he requires only short walks and enjoyed a soft couch. He is structurally not built for speed and won't be running any marathons. While normally calm and mellow, he gets very excited, too excited around splash pads and running hoses so caution or avoidance is best. Being incredibly social and eager to connect, he can be overly excited to meet new people, especially at the shelter.`
