Meet Joanna, a young calico girl with a story that could have ended very differently. At only about 8 months old, Joanna was found struggling to survive outside in heartbreaking condition. She was painfully thin, weighing no more than a 12-week-old kitten, suffering from a severe upper respiratory infection, and one of her eyes was so badly damaged it could not be saved. Despite everything she had endured, Joanna still allowed herself to be rescued—and that decision changed her life. After receiving the medical care, nourishment and love she desperately needed, Joanna slowly began to heal. The pain is gone now, her belly is full, and for the first time in her young life, she knows the comfort of soft beds, kind hands and companionship. Joanna has blossomed into a funny, spirited little cat with plenty to say. She may not enjoy being carried around, but she absolutely wants to be part of your world. She will seek you out for affection, chat with you throughout the day, and happily remind you when she feels it’s time to pay attention to her. She has also done wonderfully with other foster kitties—including Chim Chim, Speed and Alfie—and can hold her own just fine during their playful antics. She would do well either as a spoiled only kitty or with another calm, friendly cat. Most of all, Joanna deserves what she has never truly had before: a forever home where she is safe, cherished and loved exactly as she is. This brave little one-eyed girl has already fought so hard for her second chance. Now she’s simply waiting for the person who will finally give her the happy ending she deserves.
