Adoption fee: $650 Grommet would like everyone to know that he did not skip posing for his photo shoot because he’s camera shy — he simply had important business to attend to, including sunbathing, bush-sniffing, and dramatically rolling in the grass like the tiny weirdo prince he is. He says you'll have to come meet him in person - or better yet, apply to adopt him! - in order to be graced with his true handsomeness. Tiny Dog, Giant Personality At just 1-2 years old and 7 pounds, Grommet is a hilarious little Italian Greyhound-Rat Terrier mix with skinny little legs, curly ears that seem to have a mind of their own, and the kind of joyful energy that makes people smile instantly. He’s one of those dogs who trots through life like every moment is exciting, whether he’s following you from room to room at lightning speed or trying to sneak into the garage for his favorite game of “catch me if you can.” Grommet is playful, affectionate, goofy, and constantly ready to be involved in whatever his people are doing. He’s equal parts energetic play buddy and professional lap warmer. A Day in the Life of Grommet Grommet starts his mornings around 7:00–7:30 AM. The second he comes out of his crate, he does the cutest full-body stretches before heading outside for potty time and a short walk around the block. After his morning stroll, he either munches on kibble independently or happily accepts hand-fed bites like the spoiled little gentleman he secretly believes he is. The rest of his day is a pretty perfect balance of playtime and lounging. He enjoys bursts of activity, playing with his foster family, exploring the backyard, soaking up sunshine, and bouncing around the house asking everyone to participate in his fun. But once he’s gotten his wiggles out? He’s ready to collapse directly onto someone’s lap for a nap. He especially loves curling up next to people while they work on their laptop or relax on the couch. If you sit down, there is a very good chance Grommet will immediately launch himself into your lap like he has been invited to a royal throne. In the evenings, he enjoys another walk and potty break, dinner between 5:30–6:30 PM, a little more playtime, and then winds down for the night in his crate after one last backyard trip. Velcro Dog Energy If you’ve ever dreamed of having a tiny sidekick who follows you everywhere, Grommet may be your guy. He zooms from room to room and even follows his people up and down stairs just to stay close. He loves attention, actively seeks out affection, and is extremely generous with kisses. Hands? Licked. Face? Also licked. Personal space? Not something Grommet believes in. He’s playful and energetic when he’s awake, but he’s equally committed to his cuddle career. During downtime, he would much rather snooze on a lap than spend time alone. He’s crate trained and does well going potty outside during walks and yard breaks. As for naughty habits? Grommet is mostly too busy having fun and being adorable to get into trouble. Why Everyone Falls for Grommet There’s just something endlessly lovable about this tiny dog. Maybe it’s his goofy curly ears. Maybe it’s his joyful zooming. Maybe it’s the way he dramatically throws himself into your lap for naps. Or maybe it’s simply because Grommet approaches life with so much happiness and enthusiasm that you can’t help but adore him too. He’s sweet, playful, cuddly, funny, and full of personality — basically everything people hope for when they imagine the perfect little companion dog.
